To provide web hosting services and/or domain registration/management, we collect the following information from you:Domain Registration
When you purchase Domain Registration services for top level domains (TLDs), we, as the domain registrar, must collect the following personal information from you (collectively, "Personal Information"):
Our gathering of Personal Information is required to fulfill with our contractual responsibilities to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers "ICANN" and some TLD registries "Registries" in order for you to successfully register your domain name. In addition to Personal Information, our contracts with some Registries may require us to collect other personal information for TLD registration, such as professional affiliations, identity, or other qualifiers "Additional Personal Information".
Disclosure Of Information
Public Whois: Our agreements with ICANN and other Registries compel us to make certain domain name information "WHOIS Information" available and accessible to the public via a searchable port 43 "WHOIS" Service on a public webpage operated by the applicable registrar of record "WHOIS Site". The WHOIS Site is a publicly accessible database that contains WHOIS information such as a domain name, the name server(s) to which it points, and the date it was created and expired.
Transfer out: If you begin a transfer of a domain name away from us as the registrar of record, we may be required, under our contract with ICANN, to post your registrant email address acquired from your Personal Information on the WHOIS Site for approximately five (5) calendar days. After this period, presuming a proper transfer, you will no longer be our customer for that domain name, and the gaining registrar will maintain your WHOIS information.
Certain registries: Registries are third-party TLD providers that are not affiliated with domain registrars. If needed by contract with a specific Registry, we may be required, as a domain registrar of domains offered by the Registry, to provide Personal Information and Additional Personal Information to such Registry in order to correctly register your domain name. If we supply a Registry with your Personal Information and Additional Personal Information, the Registry is responsible for adhering to applicable data privacy regulations.
Data escrow: Our contract with ICANN requires us to deposit the Personal Information acquired with a secure third-party escrow provider who acts only as the data's holder.
Permitted Disclosures: We may also release your Personal Information as required by ICANN's laws, regulations, and policies, such as the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy "UDRP".
